No photos...but they had three of them. I remembered the Rosemary post...and was torn. I thought...I could get it to see if I could keep it alive...and also use it to cook. (My husband said I would never use it if one could use it for bonsai) Sooooo...I left it there. I doubt it was the variety that was shown on the post. Because it didn't look weeping in the slightest. But...care would be similar right? If I would break down and go back for it tomorrow. To see if I could care for one...maybe get a nicer form of the one that looks weeping to me at a later date. If I can keep this one alive.

wait TIll After Christmas

Wait till after Christmas when Home Depot puts their "Christmas Tree" Rosemary's on sale. They will bigger and not as much as grocery store one.

Home Depot is over an hours drive for me...I am in a very rural area. But...you bring up a good point. These were maybe...6-7 inches tall. Non-Christmas tree shaped. There is one up not far from the pet store where I buy our snakes food. If I can remember to stop in.

Rosemary and or ivy are good starter trees for young people or first timers.

Darlene,

you have to grow the rosemary to get the Bonsai. All the clippings can be placed into a plastic bag and hung somewhere to dry for cooking.
Been doing that for years and last week's Sunday bake was Cornish hens seasoned with Italian seasoning, home made aged 10 year old wine and sprigs of rosemary.
The kitchen was ................. shall we say ....................... full of memories.

Try one.

They will dry out in a bag...I never knew that. The one in town...had a bit of a slant to its trunk...but...maybe I should hold off for a Christmas tree shape. We shall see...It smelled so good. And I use Rosemary a lot in seasonings.

They were asking $4.99 for the Rosemary. But again...small...yet priced well. Seeing ones on EBay for far more for same size. But it's not the creeping form. So the branches won't twist like the one ABCarve's beautiful specimen...I am imagining. Do you think those pine tree varieties may do this weeping style?

Love his rosemary bonsai...((((sigh))))

Photos taken from another post...done by ABCarve. And his beautiful Rosemary Bonsai. (Hope you don't mind my posting them over here.)

I noticed that Home Depot sells the variety that ABCarve has...during seasonal months.Going to hold off for it...and pick up a small shrub. And see if I can manage it. Sure is amazing...one worth giving a shot. Something on my list...for spring. :D
