Considering the small size of that azalea, I'd personally leave the branch on the bottom left as a sacrifice to help with thickening the trunk over time. I would remove the tiny little branch on the bottom right. Just me though. I wouldn't do a major chop on a tree that small, but I don't know how big or small you ultimately want this thing to be. If you're going to do it shohin style (total height of about a foot or less) and keep it in a tiny pot, then maybe make some cuts, but I can't recommend what to cut from that, as I like larger bonsai. Surely others with more experience than me will chime in though. Good luck with it either way. Azaleas are great!
Thanks, unfortunately this pic doesn't do the size of the tree justice. It is sitting on a 10 gallon pot so it is quite big. Once I get back home, ill try to get some actual measurements, but it is definitely, the height of the trunk a bit more than a foot long.

This is from rough garden stock I bought in 2018, not sure if it's slanting or a literati in progress.. much better health than when I found it, open for opinions

An 18 inch white oak I found growing by the back porch of my mom's house back in 2020. The main root is on the side with the slant but I can't help that. It seems it would still be very supportive that way even if it was large. WIN_20220629_15_46_22_Pro (2).jpg

Believe ID is off as leaf lobes have points. Red/black oak group. Unfortunately cannot ID any better. Where is Moms house and was tree native to area found🤨?

I'm probably wrong on the i.d. Most of the lobes seemed more rounded overall and some were pointy. I'll try a leaf I.d. app and see what it says. There's lots of little oak trees of various types growing in my mom's yard in Jacksonville, FL.

Yes, you have a good eye. My leaf app shows this as Quercus Nigra (Water Oak - red oak family). One source for this did say it is often confused with a white oak!
