Hi,

This is a wisteria that my parents dug for me from their property last year. It reminds me of a slingshot with the two trunks from the same spot. I don't like that they are so similar and would like to get some advice before I repot.

Should I leave both trunks? My thoughts are to remove the that has been shortened on the right altogether. Also, there is a repeat of this 'slingshot' on the left and my plan was to shorten that to the lower branches upon repotting.

Comments welcome!
Thanks,

Chris

from the second pic take the fork off above the bottom branch. you could leave a jin or cut it off at an angle and the taper might look right, plus you can probably train the branch into a more appealing form. I am not afraid of cutting, but once its all cut you cant go back.... however, you can cut in stages and think about it over time.

the other option I see is to from pic two, take off the lower right arm and the upper left also, then the trunk will bend back on itself twice.
