Lovely Cedars @MichaelS
And exceptional lively trees on those photos, too!

May I take the opportunity & advantage to ask people here what is the most suitable species of Cedar for the climate conditions of Athens, Greece? Zone 9a and during summer it's very hot and dry.

Libani and Atlas are both Mediterranean species. Atlas is classified as a subspecies of Libani now. I think you should have no problem with growing them in Greece as your climate is pretty close to their native climate I would think. A short needle variety of the Libani cypress grows on a Greek island I believe, can’t remember what that subspecies is called or which island it is native to.
