Well, let's hear...

I've been seeing some videos of some very interesting Tanuki(s?) out there...
Makes me want to try one, just for fun.

Would love to see ones if they have. None for me...and no room for another project. Curious if you have enough interest...if one could create another contest.
A tanuki contest would be a good one, no doubt.
I haven't tried one and I also can't take on any new projects for the next year or so, we will be moving into my in-laws place temporarily, then moving next year...well I hope next year, might bleed into '19...

Once you’ve had Tanuki ...

Ah I don’t believe it. Never been true before.

I have tried the bonsai type, also. It didn’t work. I don’t think I cut my channels deep enough. With my typical sporadic patience and/or stubbornness I kept working it for prolly ten years thinking it was going to be great until the dead wood finally rotted, the trees separated and I gave up.

Yeah, he's brought a few in to previous meetings, lot's of effort in preparing the deadwood and matching it up with the material.
He's going for it. I think I suggested using a tamarack for one instead of the usual juniper. I'm bringing some saplings next club show to see if one works.
