Some experimental stoneware fresh outta the kiln. These bonsai pots are being donated to the CO Bonsai Club for spring repotting.

Just saw these on Reddit my friend! Would you be interested in selling any of your pots?

Thank You... I do sell pots when I have some available, but these are all going to the bonsai club

I LOVE experimental batches!! I read somewhere that each “type” of clay sourced from certain locations have “miracle tempers” and ratios.. you just have to play around and find them!

Your workmanship is wonderful, as well! 🤓

I can only source red/crimson earthenware, though.. and the REAL “purply” stuff is in precarious locations where I can only carry like 35-40 lbs back...

Thank You 🙏🏼 Yes the only way to find unique aspects and combos, is by experimenting.

One of the spots I collect from, can only be done in the summer time and not very easy. Especially when it’s wet, its so heavy.

Yes! You always have to get TO the spot..to find out that it’s moist... 🤣

Then it’s the whole, “Well.. this isn’t ideal.. but I’m already HERE. ..” -type of thing. 🤓

You are lucky to be able to “tap” stoneware veins.... none around here... except rumors.

Apparently a “grey clay” (Person’s words, not mine :) ) vein opened up near Brussels, WI... My eyebrows couldn’t be raised much higher at this statement. I have to get over there and check it out for myself, it’s quite close.

Haha... Yep ... Adds like 3x the weight.

Due to Oregon's geology there are quite a few different types to be found. Recently found one that has a similar feeling to porcelain, but haven't been able to collect enough for any real testing yet.

Absolutely go check it out... always fun testing something new.
