I really like this! I have been toying around with making root stands some this year. Finding just the right snag to use being the real challenge.

I tried my hand at the root carving thing. It is not as easy as it may seem. This one was carved from mahogany. I needed a small stand for this maple layer semi cascade.

wow, very nice stand smoke. did you use a dremel? and how do you go about polishing the wood on the inside of the stand? seems like you may have limited access into some of those places that you may have to hand polish?
