Hi.

Here you have a sample of my elm's colection.

Chinese elm (Ulmus parvifolia) standar

Tend to keep leaves through the winter and sheed flakes of bark showing orangish underneath

Chinese elm, seiju elm and nire (Ulmus parvifolia standar, Ulmus parvifolia var seiju, Ulmus parvifolia var nirekeyaki)

- Variety seiju: smallest leaves than the standar and develop corky bark. Don't keep foliage in winter
- Varierty nirekeyaki: leaves like standar, don't tend to keep foliage in winter, corky bark.

Siberian elms (Ulmus pumila)

Small bud in winter, smooth bark when are young, rough bark when mature.

English elm (Ulmus minor)

Smooth grey bark when young, rough corky bark when mature, over all in hot dry exposure. Bud are bigger in winter.

continue....

And finally an Ulmus minor growing at full sun, not a bonsai proyect, but a realy corky one ;)

I'll try to keep the post update when leaves mature, in order to help the identification of each species.

Cheers, and thanks for watching!

Very nice.

Got more images of the air layer process? How much time did it take?
