It's hard after the visit to Kimura's house, so come with me, we'll change our mind. . ;) :D
I will take you to see a very small outdoor exhibition in the "cloister" of a temple.

This exhibition was held at the same time and a few kilometers away from the World Bonsai Convention in Saitama in April 2017.
Of course the quality is not quite the same, but seeing the number of trees and the number of spectators present at this small exhibition, I wondered which country would be able to organize a second exhibition at the same time and so close to a world convention...

Of course the quality is not quite the same,
but I would be very happy and proud to welcome any of these trees present at this small exhibition in my collection.

On se sent tout petit...

You feel very small.
What a lesson in humility.
What an encouragement to try to live up to the master...

Quel encouragement pour essayer d'arriver à la cheville du maître...

I was impressed by the complexity of the roofs.

Yes, truly amazing.

I recently watched a programme on "Arte" about a Japanese temple, explaining how the main part was a sort of mast with each floor independent from the others. Then, in case of eathquake, the whole structure wouldn't collapse. There was an example of a journalist showing bowls on top of one another and the whole pile would collapse. Then another set of bowls with holes at the bottom and a stick in the center wouldn't. Maybe not very clear, but that was very convincing. And all the pieces were normed ansd labelled, sometimes with written texts for the next generation of carpenters, for these buildings have been maintained for centuries according to the same principles.

I will take you to visit Ritsurin-kōen Park in Takamatsu.
It's master Iramatsu who was kind enough to drop us there
A strange atmosphere emanates from this park, it is a new invitation to meditation, yet the atmosphere is very different from that of the Moss Temple.
I had the chance to visit it at a time when there were very few people.
Here are some pictures.
