Yes Underdog, I was several times very surprised by what I saw in Japan.
For example by Bonsai in preparation in full ground.
All without fencing, without protection.
In my country, if you do that, you don't need to come and water the next day, there will be nothing left.

Mind bogglingo_O! So many trees developed while in ground. Learning growing place appears just as American suburban area surprises. Expected all would be city or farm. Perhaps this is considered farm area😕.

These trees that grow in the ground are maintained very regularly, the roots are pruned every year. ;) :)
