Something eating cuttings

I went out today to take a look at all my trees and something has been chewing on the new buds on my quince cuttings. Nothing was touched on the pomegranate or Chinese elm cuttings right next to them. I have no idea what it could be. It has to be some kind of insect because the buds are just chewed on, not completely eaten. Any ideas what t might be or how to protect against it?

So I was just outside a few minutes ago and I found these tiny little pinkish gray slugs in the pot where my cuttings were. I'm guessing they're the culprit.
