Sorce,

suggestion, start doing other than Bonsai pots.
You may want to do the Gallery walk.
Certainly have the talent.
Just take it slowly with the creations.

Look up Art Pottery in the 1900's.
Good Luck in your real career.

Good Question! It's extremely hard for me to say at this point. But I want to get that "style" better...that one to me, is, something that can be wicked sick!

I think all my favorite pots have a contrast between glaze and clay, dark on light or light on dark.

I slapped this new clay together fast and glazed the bonedry and threw it right in a glaze fire for a test, and to see the clay fired....

Love this blue on red.

So warm!

A couple other glaze tests on Scrapcent Planters...
And the first pot that Blew up from being a bit wet still...cracked off and glazed back on!
And one Went Home.

The blown up pot is now mine.... I like how it’s battle scarred. Patiently waiting for my fleet of LSD series pots. If you could make three different color ones that could be used together, that would also be cool. Perhaps a triangular, circular, and a square melted piece.

I went to both days of Bjorn’s grand opening. Nice place with good collected material. Pics of Naoki Maeoka finishing up a killer ponderosa pine demo. “The Crane”A9220997-C27C-4186-9B64-14D52964499F.jpegA9220997-C27C-4186-9B64-14D52964499F.jpeg

This is part of the Lip Service Series. For Peter Tea!
I'm going to see how ridiculously far I can make lips go, while keeping a sensible form.
This is already proving a great place to decorate, this glaze showed its deepest blue on this surface.

The surface of this is very intriguing. Annoying and Beautiful at the same time, you want to put it down but if you try, it catches light different and it makes you happy again!
Odd thing is, when I started taking pictures with this good Nikon, I was amazed at how pretty the pictures were without much effort. I was so anxiously waiting to get to this one, and the Glaze beat the camera!
I think there are better tablet photos in the other thread!

Anyway, the base is 2 1/4 inches, and this lip gets out to 5 1/2 inches at the widest. The lip itself is from 3/4 to 1 1/8 inch wide.

Yup, you are going to be an Artist Potter.

But I don't believe your place is in Bonsai Pots.
Test yourself on a 7 inch vase.
Try carving and a vase shape using coils on the turn wheel.

You have an anatomy book, so sculpture is now a possibility
and the ability to use plaster to make moulds of anything.

The money to make a living is in Luxuries to those very well off.
Yi Xing and Tokoname have already cornered the market in
elegant, affordable mass pottery.

Break out your dress pants and attend the Opera or Plays
and learn how to say hello. Let them ask what you do.
Don't push.
Once a month an Opera.

The very well off die and Sorce's work is preserved in a
museum, for sempre.
Good Day
Anthony
