So via the title, heavy winds, loose 5lb spindle, bonsai below = bad idea.

Happened about 7-8 months ago. The branch WAS where the cut paste is at now. Said branch really balanced the tree and I very much enjoyed this tree.

Tried to remedy the bullshit by yanking a branch from one side to the other, as you can see in the photos. Just not working out. It was bushier till I trimmed it back a cpl days ago.

Any suggestions?

I’m thinking about just cutting off all the branches and hope for plenty of back buds to choose from, may trunk chop and completely start over.

Lmk bnuts!

  1. Try to induce budding = hard cutback after allowing it to grow freely for a while
  2. Graft (thread by looping a long branch around and inserting it through the spot you want it or place a cutting from this tree their via side/veneer or 'T' similar to bud grafting - or maybe bud grafting if this species is suited for it).
btw, are you saying this is a euonymus of some kind?

It’s a willow leaf ficus (nerifolia). Grafting will probably be the least time consuming I would think. Might try that.
