I'm clearing out some stock that I have either outgrown, or that doesn't interest me as much as it did once. In the interest of clearing out space, I am going to offer up a few trees here. If anyone is interested please PM me. I don't have set pricing on these, just looking for basically what I have into tree and the pot if the purchaser would like both.

The Cypress is SOLD

First up, a Bald Cypress. Trunk at base is 4", 38" tall from soil line, root spread 12".
This tree is heavy, and large, but I could do a largely bare root shipping at this time of year, and ship the pot separately to save on weight.

spruce!!!!

Here is a Colorado Blue Spruce, I've been working on chasing the foliage back, and there are a good many new buds coming on back at the trunk. This tree is 21" from the soil, the base is 2.5"

yatsubusa elm

This is a lame attempt at a root over rock. More like root around rock lol. The rock is a nice piece of flint I think. I have not had this out of the pot for a couple years, who knows what is under there...

crape Myrtle

This is an exposed root crape myrtle, don't know the variety but it blooms a lilac color. The root spread is 5.5" and the base depending on where you measure is 2.5-3" The tree has a nice radial branch structure, the pictures don't do it justice.

willow leaf ficus

Here is a small sweet willow leaf ficus. Not a fussy tree by any means, I keep this one in a south window in the winter, and it does just fine. I defoliated this past winter to wire it, so there are some naked photos of it. Wire is off now, and tree is doing great.
The tape measure for scale is 3"x3".

mulberry

A large mulberry trunk currently in a training box. If you want, this could be bare root shipped if we did it soon, as it's not leafing yet. The tree had an insect borer in the trunk last year, so after I dug it out, that side of the trunk will be a carving project. As it's mulberry (they are like weeds) it should not effect the health of the overall tree. So if you like to carve...
Tree is 28"tall roughly, the trunk is 4" at the base, the root spread is 10". I have a thread about the progression of this trunk here on the forum.

SOLD

Just thought I would update the mulberry with pics of the root system after I got it out of the trainer today. Lots of fine feeder roots, all I had to do was spray the substrate off, so no loss of roots at all. (and you can't kill a mulberry anyway! ;) )
This is not a tree you will see every day, that is for sure.

How much for this one?

Here is a summer shot of the spruce when it gets a head of steam going.

Thanks Vin. It should be starting to achieve a fuller interior now that I've forced it to backbud by taking all that luscious growth back. It will be fun to pick and choose now. This is one plant I never worry about winter with, hardy as a rock.

I'm curious to know if they are tolerant of the Florida heat and humidity?

Sadly, I do not think it would last long for you down there. They would do fine in the heat and humidity, but must have dormancy in the winter to survive.....

I will do fine in Zone 8 with proper care, my brother in law has one in his landscape in North Fort Myers many years now in 9b as with most plants they do not seem to read the books.

Wow, that's interesting, I never in a million years would have thought they could grow there! Learn something new every day..., thanks grimmy

Black Spruce plant zone 2-5
White Spruce plant zone 2-6
Alberta Spruce plant zone 2-8
Blue Spruce plant zone 3-6

I understand that trees can't read plant zone charts, but there has been a little thought put into where things thrive and don't thrive.

Everyone wanted to plant Colorado Blue Spruce here in MN. For the first 20-25 years they work out great. After that they they succumb to the wet weather and fungus disease that does't bother them in the dry western US.

I just wanted to point that out in a landscape setting... We keep Tropicals in the North East and I am certain there are a lot of trees growing in pots all over the world where they are not common. Yes they need special care but I doubt it is impossible more often then not.
