Stolen Bonsai in Sacramento!

Difficult loss. Need pictures so this community can help.
It might help if everyone monitors their local Craigslist. That's how I found a club members stolen trees a couple of years ago.

I will be at Murayama Saturday delivering relief bonsai items to Ron Anderson bonsai for distribution to the fire victims. I will be at Murayama to purchase soil supplies like I do every year. I could be standing there when a guy comes in asking questions about bonsai care and it could be the thief. Wouldn’t that be a slap in the face.

I am giving up 15 years of bonsai focus and bonsai Europe magazine. 600 back issues of GSBF Golden Statements and 15 hard cover books. I am going tonight to pickup my buddies donation of tools shears and pots. These guys lost everything. Shattered pots and charcoal briquettes for trees not to mention their whole house.

I'm taking stoff to Ron on Saturday too. Maybe I'll see you.
Thanks for posting pics!

I gotta hell of a load!!! Lots of trees, books decades of magazines, pots and tools.

Going to Murayamas for soil first and then Ron’s. Maybe around 11 AM.

Cool!

I was just at Maruyama this morning, where I bought a hornbeam and some scoria. I didn’t know about the theft until I read this a few minutes ago. I feel really sad reading the news.

The owners of Maruyama are wonderful people - very knowledgeable and helpful. I’m lucky to have such a great bonsai nursery in my back yard.

After reading this sad news, all of us in the N California area should consider supporting Maruyama by buying a little extra from them this year. Our dollars could never make up for their loss, but having the bonsai community support them more can at least soften the blow a little bit.
