I grew some cuttings last year in a large,deep pot and they grew the long roots needed for this job.
I have plenty acacias that do nothing year after year, so I decided to do something different
cool idea man. I'd guess that even if those acacia die the fig will eventually swallow it all up and cover any trace that it was ever there. Leaving you with a huge swolllen base. Neat warm weatehr species
the acacias are 100 % - top growth is normal still ...
in my neck of the woods host trees take forever to die - decades...
because of the overwhelming presence of the ficus in the pots, I reckon another 2 years of life maybe??
This should be neat.
I have one growing on a Bald Cypress that died on me, and one on a rock, and a few growing over the redneck shed I use for my shady spot.
eventually I hope to have my bonsai workspace inside of a tree.
