Hello all,

I'm wondering if anyone might be able to point me towards a industrial strength rooting hormone that is available in the U.K.? I have read some threads talking about "Hormodin 3" but unfortunately, its not obtainable here.

I'm looking for something primarily for Acer cuttings, which I find I get low success with, and also air layering all sorts.

Any help would be much appreciated :)

Thank you in advance!

Rhizopon is used commercially but you won’t be able to get above 0.25% IBA unless a commercial grower with trade account.
Clonex gel is good but I prefer rhizopon 0.25. - grab it off eBay

You can get IBA powder on ebay in the uk, work out the % you need and add the difference to clonex, or cut it into a commercial powder, ideally one with NAA, although those are hard to come by now. If you can't find a uk supplier, powergrown.com in the US ship to the UK.

You can get IBA-K as a soluble salt from the internet.
NAA too, but it'll need a helper solution (like potassium hydroxide) to become soluble. Potassium hydroxide is pretty caustic and a small amount can offset the pH by miles. So be careful if you plan on using it.
