I recently tore out a cotoneaster hedge in my yard. I kept two stumps that had some girth and movement to them. I think I just wanted to join the “trying to turn old hedge stumps int bonsai” club. Anyone have any relevant experience with the species?C2304E4D-CFAF-43A3-9D46-67E644BDAAD5.jpeg31ECCA40-FBBC-4C63-A3E7-2658F83B09A2.jpeg62AA71D2-EEA2-426F-A6FC-5A88E93CD6CE.jpeg
These are from May 7th.

When I get some buds I like on the straight top sections, I’ll be shortening them further. I’ll also thin out other shoots after they have had a few more weeks to grow.

The surface roots of the second one are much nicer, but are buried right now. Here they are on the first stump:0A15EA92-68B0-4499-9D92-754E4F9CED9E.jpeg
