This tree has pushed a very strong and even flush of new growth this spring. It should be ready for serious work this fall.

Not to be pedantic, but yamadori literalli means "tree from the mointains" so... (ok, that was pedantic! ?)

Pedantic usually means correct and in the case the tree is Yamadori in both where it is from and in its content. It may not be as aged looking as our understanding of the situation it still is from the mountains and it is collected.

This little fellow may be able to take on the subtle illusion of age before too terribly long. There are some interesting branches and the base is showing some character in the bark.

I have collected some tiny spruce this year from the same area where the evidence of age is more obvious. I sure hope they recover equally well.
