Do you think it's ready for a bonsai pot with it's next repot? I think it's built to the right level above the soil, but not sure how the roots are doing after the rot incident.
I will take it out of the pot this winter, to see how the roots are looking. There is one fat root at surface level that I think I will carve to make it less awkward, then put the tree back in the same pot (planted deeper) for at least another year. After that...I will have to see how it is doing, but I am definitely itching to get it into a proper bonsai pot. Maybe when I get a chance, I can post photos of the few properly-sized pots I have on hand.
