Super glued rocks

Bought a sweet pot for 4$ at garage sell. .. rocks are super glued in! Wtf?!

Attached tray is my problem....many "mallsai" are sold in such containers with rocks glued on....weird.

What’s the problem with the attached trey? I could remove it but it would destroy the trey

At least you can keep them moist with a regular misting via the commonly used: center-console-spray-bottle.

I just don't like them, personal preference....hard to clean too.
I have never seen a nice tree in a pot with an attached tray.

Acetone my friends, it should dissolve super glue. You can find it in nail polish remover.
Just don't use it on plastics, because it eats the stuff.

The ones I've seen seem to be glazed together.

you never know when you’ll need to mist your bonsai! Always ready! Bam!

Hmm that sounds like an expensive procedure for this kind of stuff. Could be epoxy, I don't know if acetone can dissolve that.

It's sometimes hot glue. I've separated some by putting the pot in the oven and baking for a few minutes.

I’ve successfully separated tray from pot several times. A light wack with a mallet around the tray should do it. It’s not ideal, but makes the pot more functional.
