A couple are at Bonsai Pot Auctions.

I hate FB too...but as a new potter its easier to just let the Auction determine a selling price.

I love y'all so if you don't FB.

@Anthony ! :):D:po_O:cool:;):D:cool::cool::eek:

Above a dark and a buff.. .
20180321_094046.jpg20180321_094102.jpg

Crazy it's almost those two roughly blended!

This is dirty, rolled straight from the ground.
Even those small pebbles stuck in quite well...
Like this...I bet it has enough closed porosity to hold up in our winters.

Clean...well...I'm definitely going thru with that effort!

Its so rich right now...
Oooh!

I haven't even dug from where I know there is better.

Test .

Left me here.

One popped of the other cracked.

Nice. I can only begin to imagine what kind of energy will be in this clay!

Ah / erm @sorce,o_O:eek:

we pass all clays through at least a rice sieve, if not 200 to 325 mesh.
For slip glazing 625 mesh.

That stuff looks porous, my Lord.

Wanna try sieving and then rolling a snake about this thick [ ]
About 3 inches long with a simple circle base about say 3 mm thick
and wide enough to support the length/

Normally we fire to see for collapse and bloating as the limit.

Great to see you experimenting.

Next K says to teach you how to make rings for wearing.
Good Day
Anthony

Short not being able to hold stuff....
It is really a fantastic way of finding the right materials for projects.

When I was a kid my parents were pretty much obsessed with the Pueblo tribes and their culture. One of the most iconic artforms of this culture is the black-on-black pottery made by Maria Martinez. Their technique was apparently an ancient one that they rediscovered. You can read about it here:
http://www.collectorsguide.com/fa/fa024.shtml

In any case, I always loved the look of these pots and where we lived in Colorado had a huge hill of pretty much pure clay. So one day when I was in 7th grade I tried her technique or as close as I could come with no google to help! LOL It actually turned out pretty good. I don't think this (the only pot I ever made) still exists but I did use my own clay. I never sieved it or anything as I did not know about that and it still worked. I wood fired it in a little kiln I built out of river rocks. Anyways... Just thought I would leave that link as I think you will dig it.
