Hey all,

Trying to find a good systemic that I can easily sprinkle onto the soil and have protection from mites and Aphids. I've looked at Bonide, but haven't heard of anyone that has used it that I can talk to. Anyone have any good recommendations?

I've been using this on my Ficus that get thrips. I tried everything else I could think of first, including defoliation. This stuff works, and no ill effects that I can see. They trees are all healthy and happy.

Thanks Mat, that's the exact stuff that I linked to ;)

Might just have to give it a try. Never really used a systemic, just sprays that never truly worked.

I went to my Amazon order history and posted without even clicking your link. :)

Please use with caution & at your own risk, etc. Pesticides in general make me nervous, and I'd hate for something to happen to one of your trees because of something I recommended.

I've been using this stuff since early spring of this year, on Ficus benjamina, microcarpa, kinman - only after I saw evidence of thrips. All are in pots, and as I said, doing fine. One application is all I've ever put on any single tree.

Good luck!

Thanks Mat! I wouldn't think this would cause any problems with the trees. The only real issues I seemed to have were when I would spray my trees with oils, especially neem oil. They always dropped leaves. That's why I'd like to steer away from those and give a systemic a try.

Oh I know I know, but like I said, I'd just like to steer clear of those whenever possible. My trees and I aren't big fans of hardcore sprays.
The systemic you linked to is Imidacloprid and DoMyOwnPest has that is a generic form. I have used this on houseplants and my black pines without trouble.
