The third tree displayed was styled about 3 years ago by Matt Reel, when he was an apprentice to Shinji Suzuki. It won the Prime Minister Award, the top award in the show.

Matt is extremely talented, and lives in Portland, OR.

A fellow bonsai-ist and I have Matt (and Bobby Curttright) coming to SLC 2x a year. Both have been great to work with.
