From another thread:
I am looking forward to digging a monster Tamarisk yamadori on Thursday,

Can you give me a thought or two on how to handle these? I have a nursery plant with a large trunk, but: They don't seem to wire worth a dang. They lose branches at the slightest provocation, and clip and grow doesn't result in branches where you want them. I've seen pictures of some nice Tamarisk bonsai, but have never seen one in person.

Are you refering to the kind of Juniperish Tamarisk or the decedious Pine looking Tamarach (Larch)? A photo would go a long way in providing the right response.

Tamarix ramosissima. Here's a three-year-old pic.
