Am planing juniper tanuki.
I got the thick dead branch and I want to prepare to apply preservative on it to prevent fungus.

No way for me to get lime sulfur.

What other chemical preservative can be used?

Will copper sulfate work?
I have access also to micronized sulfur liquid and poweder.

Please help me

Thanks in advance

Teak oil or wood hardener is fine... In fact the lime sulfer is not really what preserves the dead wood for the most part. Burning it before adding the lime sulfer or oil will give it a more natural look and help harden and preserve the wood, but to stop it from rotting our should add some sort of preservative like teak oil or wood hardener especially on deciduous trees.

Conifer wood tends to last longer but some preservative is still a good idea on most trees.
