Awesome tree. Thanks for showing us this. I have one of these, or at least a similar variety of honeysuckle Although mine it is not as big, only about 4 or 5 inch truck dia. this gives me hope for the future of it.

What a fantastic progression. Is the tatarian honeysuckle related to the cape honeysuckle?
They are not. Tatarian honeysuckle is a "true" honeysuckle, Lonicera tatarica, belonging to the family Caprifoliaceae, while cape honeysuckle, Tecoma capensis, belongs to Bignoniaceae, so they are not even within the same order. Common names are misleading as there are countless for any given plant, using botanical names is the best way to avoid misunderstandings.
