Hello everyone...New to the group, but not to the art....Been at this for about 7 years now, studied underneath Guy Guidry....Took about a three year hiatus after my collection committed suicide..lol.....Well spring being almost here in Louisiana has inspired me to jump back in head first.....

Anyway, I found this Baldy ,along with a few other smaller ones, chopped down to this size naturally, probably during Hurricane Isaac...Well, as with most natural means of decreasing height, there was some left over from the process....Probably going to post this in the deadwood and shari section whenever I get this bad boy out of the ground next spring....Pics don't really do it justice...First one is how I found it, second is after leader and branch selection...

Welcome to the forum!

Bald cypress is one of the finest native species for bonsai. You'll have a great time with this one. Keep us posted.
