A local university planted T. distichum down one side of their street and T. ascendens (aka: T. distichum var. imbricatum) down the other side. I have a project where I'll be torturing seedlings. This is today's haul of seeds. Leaves in the bags tell me which is which. I'll be posting updates as I go.

I live Ontario Canada usda zone 4 . Don’t have bald cypress as bonsai . I planted a nursery tree Shanee Brave cultivar from the Midwest USA. Should be the coldest tolerant cultivar . We are at its limit . Planted last spring . It better live . Wife wanted it so my fault if it don’t make it 😂😂😂😂🤷‍♂️. My understanding and research is that like a fair amount of other trees . There cold and or heat tolerance . Is very dependent on seed source location . So great idea to use local . What is your torture idea . Very curious . Considering I assume you can get great material . In a swamp near you . After all your not up here freezing your ass off , 😂😂😂😂😂
