Got a nursery tacus just to train on and appreciate help with following:
-Trunk has a mid section without any branches, any chance some branches might pop, do theyeaisly bud back from old wood ?
-when is best time for repotting, wintering and pruning?
How about fertilizing ? Autumn to spring like other conifers ?
Also are they finicky to bare root like other conifers thanks for any info

Hi,
Loads of info re threads on Taxus, just need to use the search function 😜. Search for Taxus baccata or Taxus cuspidata.
Yes they back bud very easily, but need a good root system before work. My thread shows my Taxus, which I have worked a little early and the advice on this will help. Look for ‘Kiwi’s Big Taxus’ or something like that.

All I can say is that I love the species....had several for years until I moved, after the first winter at my new place they all died.
I now believe that I did not adequately over winter them.
They may need significant winter protection in a pot.

I need to jump back into the taxus game.
