Goes something like this, home deeps back in oct 2015 fresh in the bonsai game I caught the plant rep marking things down and scored a handful of large yew for $3.50 each. I snagged 4, cut them in half to fit in my car and thought I hit the lottery.
pic one and 2 show these steps. They got the burlap bag removed, clay soil washed out and potted up spring 2016.
Fast forward to pic 3, may 2017 the tree is alive and well so I did some cutting a.d branch selection not much else in those 2 years besides feeding and watching it grow. Pic 4 and 5 were taken summer 2019 and finally I have some branches to work with, now today april 2021 as seen on the last couple pics l, I repotted and cut back a lot of wild growth, added some guywires, positioned branches, and moved forward. It's still nothing special but I'm happy I've kept it alive, healthy, and it's slowly getting better every year., Next repot won't be another 5 years as the new plastic pot is tight compared to what it was in, Soni plan to reduce the pot size and the tree size. It won't win awards but I enjoy the time spent with it
