This illustrates the problem perfectly. Look at the low branches. They are thin, taperless, with no side branches. And they won’t get any better.

Unless you cut everything you have just grown off again and restart the the tree properly.

Oh, sure, the canopy (silohette) looks great. But it has poor structure. As such, it will always be a mediocre tree. Unless you restart it properly.

Now you should have the confidence to really do the hard cut backs that are required. You see it will pop new growth on bare wood.

You have a good trunk, now build good branches. Cut those lower branches back to 1 1/2 inches or so, and remove the heavier upper branches entirely.

You will have the beginnings of a MUCH (orders of magnitude “much”) better tree!
