We have a balcony with windows that can be closed (but they have airgaps). When it gets too windy or rainy we need to close the windows. Next morning I often find a sunny balcony with temperatures of 35C when other mornings it is 10C.
Would this be an issue? I do not want to keep it closed for my Junipers but I like to protect my Serisa and Ficus.

I'm sure others will chime in with more experience than myself, however, you are going to struggle trying to over winter a juniper and sub-/tropicals in the same space.

You'll want to bring the serissa and the ficus inside, providing as much light as possible, supplemental artificial light aswell. Leave the juniper out on the balcony and have the windows in such a position that they don't trap any warmth.
