I met my future wife Mary in 2012 while we were graduate students at UCLA. She was in the animation program and also a ceramics TA at Santa Monica College. She was the one who encouraged me to take a pottery class, long before I ever made bonsai pots.
More recently, I've been encouraging her to apply her drawing talent to bonsai pots and I've been supplying her with porcelain pots to paint. She studies traditional Japanese painting techniques and gets all her pigments from Japan.
Please follow her on Instagram @birdzillastudios and @sansokuuarts and www.sansokuuarts.com
I will post her pots here occasionally and she will make them available for sale soon
We will be tabling at the Pacific Bonsai Expo in November
