So you say you are - impatient - clubbing won't do it for you - no sireee.

Try this, an apprenticeship of sorts at someone's home. Learn to water, learn to weed, repot and prune.
Learn Health.

The frustration, comes from not knowing that you need lots of practice and thus about 300 victims.
BUT you may not have that much space, nor know or ere not really interested in small Bonsai at 3 inches.

So find someone who would allow you to hang out in their garden.

This how we are going to push it as our local Bonsai Society attempts to restart itself.
Yup we ended up with the old codger wanting to rule the present society.
Most just quit.
So a few of the others thought about a re-start.

New information will also be - the ball bearing principle, hydroponic fired clay balls or just pure
5 mm inorganic material.

The stages -

1 ] Ground Growing for 1 to 3 years - trunks at 2 " to 4 " and with branches and root placement if
needed. Easier on a raised bed of some type.

2] Pot growing for refinement - say 3 years and the use of fertiliser.
Branchlets.

3] Health before Design.

4] Encouragement to take some form of ART classes.

Targeting Bonsai in 5 to 10 years and then letting them age like Fine Wine.

More use of local trees than Oriental examples, greater use of ideas towards local trees,
and no cookie cutter trees.

Less of the club and more of visiting each others yards and making friends.

Thought I would throw the ideas out for the group.

You must first love trees / shrubs / nature.
