i figured to get one of these going in general-discussion forum, since there can be some crossover too for bonsai (rubber ficus, jades, hibiscus, bougainvillea, citrus, etc. etc.), overwintering, pure indoor, and i havent seen any dedicated threads for houseplants on here. lets see your variegated hoyas, monsteras, ficus, palms, pothos, ferns, snake and spider plants:

heres some of mine. im getting into some lecaball clay semi hydro now. im going to use drilled mason jars and 4" plant saucers
and all you have to do is ensure theres water in the tray - the clay balls completely regulate the water intake, and they are pest free. some
people just add water to container with no drainage for these setups as well like in second pic coming up.
orchids and hoyas, monstera, etc. can be strong in these clay setups

i run some cheap LEDs and a humidifier 50% of the time, and an oscillating fan like 90% of time on low (tower fan) to reduce pests. for mealybugs gnats etc i do use neem, soap.

another thing i do is try to keep my dry/arids to one south window setup and the other for tropicals.
i think im going to get some crossover soon though because im getting into hoyas a lot...like a tropical succulent so its weird

you can see the succulent on the right with wilt and i had to seclude and treat that thing for some pests. neem/soap x2 and its loving life again

i was surprised how well my pink fittonia has done since so many people cant keep them alive. it flowered and has a ton of new growth even right now October. its in the 'more water' category which is rare for my indoor ones...twice a week and lots of misting for it. older shot of it here20200907_084410~2_resized.jpg

When you repot Sansevieria look for the tiny pups. Here's one in a pot about 1 inch in diameter, now in its 3rd year...

here it is in scale...

Ficus elastica 'variegata'... this is as close to miniaturizing as it gets after ~5+ years, and still working on it...

That pup and ficus are cool. I will get a few of the pups going at some point from mine. You have the split leaf philodendron there as well in pic next to snake?

It's the same origin. I had a big, sprawling philo in my home and my better half hated it. Actually, worse than hated. When I was reclaiming the pot I discovered a couple pips and potted them up, that was about two years ago and keep them in really small pots for accents. Mom is happier now.

I like philodendron and pothos and have a custom trellis but I got into hoyas and in future dischidia which is a cool new diverse world and wild blooms if youre good w them. East Asian. jungle succulents (oxymoron)

lol, so 2019 especially with popularity of houseplants from the virus. they key is variegated ones now $$$$
yours looks like a healthy one for long term growth. mine has 3 plants in the planter. one of them is dominant with 3
stalks/large leafs. the other has two, third has one that i might seclude during a repot to Lecaballs
because it has medium sized spade only and a thinner stalk.

nice monstera.

btw, in a year or two i am going to moss pole mine, or if i can extract the third small one i have while everything
is in the pot ill do that and add mosspole or more trellis in its absence. when they get to stage where aerial roots and nodes form, they explode
on moss poles or when using the air roots along w misting. im just before that stage and yours looks close.

1" dia x 1" high! 20 years ago they were selling tiny pots on Ebay with 4 or 6 pot lots and people weren't bidding on them. I snatched up a couple dozen at around $2 apiece until they stopped doing it out of disgust, no doubt. They explode when dropped on concrete, but I still have about twenty of many different sizes and I love them...

The monster pot is a Japanese saki cup (I guess). I bore holes in anything small. I buy those when I see them because they have interesting decoration, too. I love accents and never miss a chance to have something interesting in a show display. I take cuttings of the most interesting trees I run across, start seeds in small pots, and collect anything small in the landscape......

fantastic!
the sedums are cool that look like little pines. we get them here in MA but i didnt know you could develop them like that. the containers are choice, good eye and great ebay buy for the mini-pots! btw the 'monstera' pot reminds me of saltmarsh pottery. old cement colored pottery from new england with dark blue accents.

and is going to nicely fit in front of my big south bay window. pretty excited because right now i have a lot of unused light
and space there.

A frosty peperomia. Three plants that I topped at multiple levels. Started too fail. Put it outside and the thing exploded.
2 hrs full morning sun. I love the spike blooms. Huge leaves outside. Perfect.
