I rescued three dwarf fruiting cherries from a garden center last month, where they were holdovers from prior years. Two had straight, unappealing trunks and are going into my father-in-law’s yard, but one had some potential. I’m hoping for flowers and fruit next summer. The variety, ‘Romeo’, is supposedly a sweet/tart pie cherry that will produce thirty pounds of fruit on a full-grown tree. I’d settle for just a few on a bonsai tree.

Hey Carol -cool you got fruit.

We planted Amaranth for leaves in the vegetable garden,
Brought in a leaf eater, attacked the amaranth leaves and
then the cherry.

No more amaranth - bug is hopefully gone.
Best of growing.
