I just received my hardcover copies of Bay Island Bonsai: An Exhibit of Fine Bonsai (2006 and 2007).

All I can say is Wow! What trees! I see trees I recognize, ones I have prepared for show, some I have worked on, and many that I covet. The photography is wonderful, and the binding is beautiful.

Now I need to figure out how to take a couple of photos without washing out with the flash....

Try using a tripod and turning off the flash Chris. Make sure you have enough soft light to illuminate the pages, perhaps light bounced off a white card or a white wall.

Ah, Steve Martin at his best, man I loved that movie.

Are you trying to take pictures of the book, or commenting on your own pictures?

Please don't start with me:cool:

I had determined the tripod bit, I think outside in indirect light perhaps. Photos of the book to show the quality. The binding is great. I suggest everyone follow the link in the first post and see the quality of trees and photos available.
