The "Sun" Box

I call this shoji box “The Sun Box”. It is made from VERY old walnut with OUTRAGEOUS wood grain.

To me, the top looks like the sun radiating its rays.

All the pieces are 1 piece and from the same board.

The shoji screen is a laminated type that can be cleaned.

It is 10″ x 10″ x 16″

Wow! That is spectacular! You are very talented with woodworking. There are a couple of guys here who are pretty good too, like BNut and Smoke. You guys should get together and talk shop. You should consider doing a video of your build too, like Norm Abram on PBS tv. I have always enjoyed watching woodworking since the 70's, and dreamed of building stuffs, but I have never built anything decent. The most I can do is put together an IKEA cabinet. Thanks for sharing your work.

Beautiful as always! I ordered a custom stand from Jerry last year and I absolutely LOVE it. In my experience it is very hard to find an artist in any discipline that can make exactly what you want, but Jerry had no problem!
