JBP purchased in July from estate sale. What most would consider NOT a beginner's tree, it has already forced me to raise my level. Currently fighting needle cast.

Should I be surprised that an advanced tree like this is in a big nursery can?

Yamadori Englemann Spruce collected by Bobby Curttright and Matt Reel in 2016 from Mt. Hood.

At the 2018 NW Bonsai Rendezvous I got this tree from a 3-hour workshop lead by Mr. Reel. Some detail wiring still needs to be done.

I’ve prioritized near-future horticulture over aggressive styling; some sections of the tree need to build more strength. A few weaker branches will now have better sun exposure than before.

I could repot this tree in winter 2019 but I am likely waiting until 2020.

Nice Parhamr! Love Engelmann spruce. I agree, it is best to go slow with these. But when happy they bud back like crazy!

Here is one of mine in a pic from last year.

I’ve got a few Engelmann dug this spring. This tree is inspiring some ideas. You sold it right?

Juniperus Monosperma. Had planned on styling in the next few weeks, but after cleaning up the live vein and deadwood, some brown tips appeared. Stopped browning and is now pushing growth, but I don’t want to push it too hard.

Eleagnus ebbingei

I wouldn’t have said anything!! And if we’re fudging the rules. Here is my next.

I went with the “deadwood style” on this one. Siberian elm, collected at cochiti lake. ?3AEC2CAD-2998-4148-B3BC-13E1FBDA7804.jpeg
I hope I don’t get banned from this thread. ?

Nice!
Need a forklift to move that monster ?
Love to see it without foliage!

Small prunus "imnotsurewhatvariety" experimenting if i can create a shohin broom style with this species

Yes I can't wait to see what I have when leaves fall. It almost warrants a forklift but not quite

Picked up several of these gems at the Nationals for an eventual shohin forest. Dwarf mulberry (morus rubra nana).
