Work-in-progress deshojo starting to wake up. Apologies for the dirty pot.View attachment 293160
Nice little maple!
Over the past few years I have been focussing more on native trees. One of my favourite species is Pinus Contorta, Known locally as Shore Pine.
This is my favourite from my collected trees. Coming along nicely, still working on refinement and compaction of foliage. This tree has been under development for approximately four years since collection. What I appreciate about this species is the bark and the naturally short needles. Single flush and naturally hardy species. Will back bud readily when healthy and smaller compact growth is easily maintained.IMG_9304.jpeg

This little clump has been in the ground for a year, I started it from seeds 6 years ago. I noticed that one of the trees had died, so I pulled it out, root pruned, and fit in a new tree. The four existing trunks are starting to fuse, so I chose a tree that has roots on one side only. Now it has 5 trunks again.

I put this little beauty together today from a 2 1/2" pot of miniature Ivy I bought a couple years ago for accents. There's about a dozen individuals in there of 1, 2, 3, and 4 stem clumpers and the rocks are holding them erect and separated. Someday, it'll be a grand forest in a 6" pot. I'm prematurely proud!

And that got me started on cleaning up a bunch of cuttings that have been growing since I don't know when, like these Ficus 'Too Little', var. 'Panda', 3 up in a 5" pot.

And 3 Portulacaria rooted since autumn in this 5" pot with their tops stuck in, too.

Here's an Angel Wing Begonia rooted for about a year that has a new 3" home.

Finally, a Coleus rooted for a year a really nice little 3" pot that is better in person.

Its going to need to style itself better than this, but what the Hell, I'm patient.

I put this wisteria in a relatively smaller pot last year which made it a bit hard to keep it watered well. I thought it would reward me for that by giving little to no flowers but damn, it never had this many. Gonna look like a total mess if if l keep them all.
