I know a guy that has been selling a bunch of field grown hornbeems that look just like this one. You didn’t happen to pick this up from a member of bonsainut, near St. Louis Missouri did you??

The chojubai white is still flowering. I don't believe I've had one that flowered from November through May before. I wonder if it will go all year.

Carpinus betulus purpurea according to the label, the red leaves last for a few weeks in spring before turning green

Another maple thats come into my hands, this tree has a solid trunk, good nebari, broom style..
this is a good example of what can be done with a ram rod straight trunk and a cluster of low branches, good basal flare
