Kegon Satsuki azalea, picked up at a David Kreutz workshop in 2018.
first shot, the tree & David Kreutz in the background.
the style is between windswept and octopus, with a flair that to me is very Chinese. I'm going with it. It is an exaggerated style for the tree.
a few weeks later beginning to bloom, flowers later removed.

@sorce on my way home from the farm one day, and talked him into selling me this pot he had just made. I love the exaggerated wide rim. Wait, I got an exaggerated one sided octopus tree? I decided to put them together.
I know my ''photo studio'' leaves much to be desired, but I was on the farm and it was too wet in the field so I took advantage of a quick break between rain showers.
I could have put this tree in a conventional round, I had a very nice Randy Davis pot with a blue & white & other colors salt glaze that would be perfect, and perfectly conventional but Sorce's pot was calling to me to use it under something. And a dramatic pot, with a wonderful exaggerated shape, I thought would go well with this exaggerated squid shaped azalea. For Squid, I'll have to get it up to 10 branches, octopus only 8, weird windswept the 5 or so will have to do.
