There’s no 2023 from seed thread

Vachelia Caven germinated in January 2023 and some are now about 2 feet tall.

I have some 100 odds Japanese Maple in two seed trays. Only two have germinated so far, we’re due to get a late frost here over the next few days. Should I move the trays into a greenhouse for a few days, or let them fend for themselves?

Ive got about 50 Crataegus prunifolia (Broad-leaved Cockspur Thorn)
in a tray in the greenhouse after 3 months in the fridge and scraped with sand paper tray ,covered with glass sheet so the mice wont get them! Still no signs of life. But more frost and snow forecast here so I will have to be patient....

We will see what I end up getting this year as all of my current seeds are outside in the winter wonderland.

I have chestnuts(probably american chestnut), walnuts (probably black walnut), Japanese Flowering Cherry (Prunus serrulata Spontanea), Korean Hornbeam (Carpinus turczaninovii), Western Juniper (Juniperus occidentalis occidentalis), and a few different species of Maple I found in the local area.

So we will see what pops up this year.

I also plan to start quite a bit more raintrees (Ablizia saman), boababs (Adonsia digitata), and a few other tropical species I can get seeds for in the spring after it starts to warm up.

Germinated so far in 2023:
Countless Coast Live Oaks
2 California Black Oaks
1 Unidentified Oak
1 Japanese Maple
1 Bristlecone Pine
1 Unidentified (Ash?)

I've got a lot of other seeds in the fridge, so we'll see what happens in the coming weeks!

If anyone wants Vachelia Caven seeds let me know. I took more than I plan on germinating. More than happy to stick some in an envelope.

Got a few hundred bald cypress seeds going we’ll see if they pop
