A friend sent me this photo...said it reminded her of mine. Is this a possibility to do with my own tree?

I reckon you could get something close with yours. Yours may just have a few more trunks
I have one very similar also.

Thank you! I really love the fullness of this tree. Contemplated twin trunk. But...I will be losing so much of what it is now...and the fullness. And when in bloom...the fullness just means more of them.
I would absolutely LOVE to see yours...if you get a free moment and can share.

I think yours needs to be cut back a bit to get a bit tighter .

Mine was like yours and you can see how much i have cut it back here. I then put it with another i had .

Here is the other one ,it nearly died from drying out on the slab was i decided to put it with the other in a pot.

Wow...that was drastically cut...I do love what you accomplished. But...am so smitten with the long contorted branches. I had originally planned to wire the branches closer. Giving the appearance of it fuller. But you gave me food for thought...and something to mule around in my head.

Loved the photos! You can see you put a fun twist to your bonsai! Love that...and those red leaves are amazing!

You can see the contorted branches better with the red wall behind it.

Darlene,

Wiring, done right is one thing but forcing branches back to create a "full image" will cost you big time later (= contrived image). Proper ramification is what you need and pruning will encourage that. Sorry, no fast way around that one (otherwise I would be all over it LOL)

It's really just lowering one main branch...I've seen ones do it...and recommend it to others. If I don't like the overall look...then I will consider pruning harder than I originally plan on doing.
