Thrift store bowl find

Pretty sure it's pit fired, but I figure I can diamond bit some drain holes in it and make a decent pot for only $1, better than the plastic ones I bought. If nothing else it's a nice trainer. Thank goodness the soil will cover up whatever the artist was trying to go for inside the bowl...

Forget drill bits, diamond holesaws work well as long as the pot is under water to keep the bits cool. Bore from the outside of the bottom of the pot for a cleaner hole.

As soon as the roofers are done installing new shingles on my house, I'll follow your advice. All the shingle granules raining down outside is giving my plants a new top layer.

Is that a free-melt mosaic in thurr?

That’s weird.

Seems a possibility that this bowl, when YOU got it, was already on it’s second purpose...

Like it WAS a bowl..

Then it WAS(/is until you fully repurpose ) A testing “bottom” or “cookie” for melting point “observation” in the pit.
