Time for a smaller box:) I'm starting early on my re-potting season so I can make sure and get everything finished.

How long has it been in the other box?
Was the original box on the large size or were the roots located so far away?

That's a killer one of a kind tree. Seriously I love it.

I tend to stick to the recommended repot times myself but I see more and more people repotting out of the accepted optimal times with good results. Without a real winter in costal California I don't think it matters much when you repot.

Thanks! The first pic is the first box the tree was placed in after collection. It's been in that box for 2-3 years. Next repot I'll likely put it into an unglazed Bonsai pot. Yes I can re pot pretty much anytime fall to Early spring because of our mild winters. If I lived somewhere where it got colder I would wait until late winter/early spring right before the buds swell on deciduous.

Thanks Aaron, the new pics is not that impressive. Lighting was not as good and I took it before I re-attached some guide wires. Tree was tilted forward which means that the tree needs some re-adjusting. I'll have to post a pic next time I wire it, likely in summer.

Yenling,

This looks like a Magician's trick where he saws a lady in half!

So, I think you need to name this one "Magic"!

If you had left the box intact, you could have just sawn down, and put on a new side!
