Wanted to create a progression for my thyme in training.
I got two on the go, 1 I plan on making a very small tree either shohin or mame. The other I plan to make into a larger triple trunk.

Some pros I have found about this plant is its trunk gets a woody barky appearance very quickly, and they backbud literally everywhere .

A negative I can see causing some issues in the future is the growth habit of these are very vertical, branches will take a 90 degree turn if you wire them down so they can continue to grow straight up.

Here is what the duo looked like in fall of september 2020

I actually almost gave up on it cause it was struggling, so I ended up putting it in a bigher pot, and forgetting about it. Luckily we had a very rainy year or it probably wouldve dried out (I really forgot about it) here it is 1 year later in 2021

This year I took out the one that I plan on making into a shohin/mame June 2022:

And just pruned back the triple trunk today to get it back budding before bringing it inside for the winter 🙂

Yes, very easy, Thyme produces a lot of aerial roots if keeped moist
It's rarely moist here, so I wasn't certain.
I have a tiny one that seems to have more of a trailing habit that I'd like to propagate. Have some ideas for various projects.
