I noticed a lot of very small drops of resin on the new soft needles of my Halepensis Pine.
They are very attractive shining under the sun like diamonds.
BUT is this normal? Do you have any experience?

Sounds like a sign of Scale or Aphids.

Or overhead trees.

Thank you for your reply @sorce
No overhead trees and no scale on eye sight.
But tomorrow I am going to take a magnifier to take a closer look for aphids.

I wish someone had a better idea!

But...

Could be just excess water.
In which case I wouldn't change anything!

Due to windy weather these last days I was not able to spray -preventively - my trees.
So this morning I woke up very early before sunrise and the wind was very mild so I could spray all the trees.
On checking carefully the tree in question (with the appropriate glasses on :p) I was able to distinguish some aphids.
However, I find the quantity of resin in comparison to aphids population to be way excessive o_O
Thank you all!

Youd be surprised what comes out of the back end of an aphid. I've been under trees where you would have thought it was raining.

Hmm. I just read a little further, “no other pine shows it” it says. Sorry.

I guess I know what variety I have now though...AF649C97-DAF1-4836-9480-977C5A44D74F.jpeg
