Need some smale scale plants for mini landscape, need something that can take a little sun without burning up, minimal soil, zone 7.anyone have experience, suggestions on which varieties work best, thanks guys n gals.

I found sites that sell many small plants, but I don't want to buy plants that cannot endure growing on a small slab.

DM, chamaecyparis thyoides andelyensis for a generic conifer in small plantings is the best plant by far for resilience, ease of keeping scale an just relative good look. Love this plant for mini landscape when the conifer look is called for.

What would you use for ground cover, ferns, flowering?

Mosses, ferns and other small plants you find growing in the forest in the same general are would probably be best.

DM, small scale usually restricts not only the species but also the number. When you go over one or two, things can get crowded and confused. Moss is a given. A short nap with differing colors and \or maybe Tom Thumb cotoneaster or whatever you can find that fits the scale, your aesthetic sensibilities and environmental conditions. These things come from playing around and seeing what other people do. Keep an open mind and eye for these kind of plantings
